Lead PLC Engineer – Maritime & Offshore

Are you an experienced PLC/SCADA Engineer ready to take the next step into a lead role with plenty of autonomy and responsibility? In this position, you will develop innovative control solutions for high-end mooring systems used worldwide in the maritime and oil & gas industries. You will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from engineering and software development to testing, commissioning and customer support. Thanks to the wide variety of projects, you will see your designs come to life in real-world applications.
Your Responsibilities
As the technical lead within the software team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a wide range of automation projects.
- Support project teams with your software expertise and technical knowledge.
- Monitor project planning and provide functional leadership to the department.
- Develop PLC, HMI and SCADA software using platforms such as TIA Portal, Codesys, J-Mobile and AVEVA Edge.
- Contribute to process improvements, standardisation and innovative automation solutions.
- Write, implement, test and optimise software while maintaining accurate technical documentation.
- Manage the software library and perform code reviews for fellow engineers.
- Advise customers during technical meetings and provide guidance, training and support during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).

Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent working and thinking level (HBO).
- Experience as a PLC/SCADA Engineer or in a similar position.
- Experience with PLC programming, preferably using TIA Portal and/or Codesys, as well as HMI and SCADA systems.
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to ask critical questions and take ownership of project outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
- Experience in an internationally oriented industrial environment is considered an advantage.
